Singaraja– Undiksha Faculty of Economics S-1 Accounting Study Program continues to improve its quality. Not only academic and non-academic fields, but also research among students. This was carried out through a general seminar with the theme “Improving the Quality of Student Research in the Bachelor of Accounting Study Program”, in the Rector’s Office’s Ganesha III Room, Wednesday (10/30/2019).
The seminar, which was attended by hundreds of students, presented 2 speakers who are usually involved in research and publications. Dr. Err. Nat. I Gusti Ngurah Agung Suryaputra, S.T., M.Sc., Undiksha Chemical Analyst lecturer, explained material on Literature Search for Scientific Publications. Meanwhile, Putu Sukma Kurniawan, S.T., M.A., an accounting lecturer at Undiksha, delivered material on Managing Research References with the Assistance of a Reference Manager (Mendeley).
Dean of the Undiksha Faculty of Economics, Prof. Dr. Naswan Suharsono, M.Pd., who opened the event, said that this seminar was not only important for students but also for lecturers in improving the quality of scientific work. According to him, this must also be supported by two important things, namely harmony and achievement. “Harmony means that the work is a collaboration between lecturers and students to produce a high-quality and up-to-date thesis. Achievement means finding creative ideas to become works of research and service related to efforts to improve the quality of study program accreditation and higher education accreditation,” he said.
According to Naswan, research development has a number of stages. First, find the topic to be studied. Second, conducting studies, and third, publication. “Publication is important. That is what boosts accreditation,” he explained. As the second youngest faculty at Undiksha, FE has also prepared a budget for around 35 research and 30 P2M conducted by lecturers. Meanwhile, students are supported through student organizations at both the department and BEM levels through the Student Creativity Program (PKM) in an effort to improve student quality. Apart from being related to research, FE students are also encouraged to become entrepreneurs or entrepreneurs, and people who have a high intellectual spirit and are qualified in other fields such as sports and the arts. “To achieve high achievement, coaching must be carried out in stages and continuously”. “Together we can. United we go forward, divided we lose,” he concluded. (hms)
