Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) has declared 2019 as internationalization at home. Supporting this, the breakthroughs made are not limited to improving facilities and infrastructure. But also foreign language skills in students and lecturers. One way of doing this is through the Conversation Class Batch and Speaking Class Batch programs in collaboration with ICEE which is based in the United States. The program was launched in the Ganesha III Rectorate Room, on Tuesday (19/3/2019).
Deputy Chancellor IV Undiksha, Drs. I Wayan Suarnajaya, M.A., Ph.D. said the program would run for three months. Specifically, the conversation class was attended by 262 students from various study programs, and the speaking class by 29 lecturers. This breakthrough is a strategy to answer the challenges of an increasingly complex era of globalization. “With activities like this, Undiksha must be ready to implement the Internationalization at Home program. “The Study Program at Undiksha is also expected to be ready to accept foreign students to study in each study program,” he said.
Meanwhile, ICEE International Director, Prof. L.E. Redick, B.Sc., M.S., MBA., Ph.D. through the tutor team appreciated the collaboration with the university which already has a Faculty of Medicine. It was stated that this program is to improve the quality and ability of the English language, so it is hoped that it can be followed well. To close the event, the ICEE tutor team also introduced a new program, namely Pop-Up English. Participants can practice their English skills in certain places such as the canteen, park, library, and other places. (ks)
