Singaraja– Student achievement is a serious concern for the ranks of the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha). It continues to be sought to increase, both nationally and internationally. This was revealed in the 2019 student activity reflection meeting and 2020 student program which took place in the Rectorate’s Ganesha II Room, Wednesday (6/11/2019).
Vice Chancellor III Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., said that currently, the achievements made by students are getting better. This is not only in the academic field but also non-academic. However, he said that there is still a need for improvement. Therefore, there needs to be a maximum effort from the student affairs department, both at the university and faculty levels. “Including in 2020, we will direct student activities to achievements,” he explained.
Achievements are very important to improve university rankings, both on a national and international scale. This includes accelerating Undiksha’s vision of becoming a superior university based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in Asia in 2045. “Therefore, there needs to be synergy between the faculty and the rectorate regarding what student activities are carried out. Of course, it must be related to demands, including from the center. Activities that can be used to support university rankings. Of course, this must also be supported by an adequate budget. This will be conveyed in the meeting,” he said.
Apart from discussing achievements, at the meeting, an evaluation was also carried out for the implementation of student activities in 2019, one of which was Campus Life Orientation (OKK) for new students. It is considered that technical activities still need to be improved. “From this meeting, we want to know what the input is like. We want future activities to continue to get better and more quality, “concluded the former Director of the Undiksha Postgraduate Program. (hms)
