Badung- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) is taking strategic steps to strengthen the Teacher Profession Education or Pendidikan Profesi Guru (PPG) curriculum as part of the Revitalization Program for Educational Staff Education Institutions or Lembaga Pendidikan Tenaga Kependidikan (LPTK). One way is through collaboration with the Business and Industry world or Dunia Usaha Dunia Industry (DUDI).
This collaboration with DUDI began through a workshop, Saturday (10/12/2022). The speakers presented were the General Manager of Plataran Ubud Hotel and Spa, Putu Fisson Sila Hari Purnawan, M.Pd., Recruitment Consultant Jolly Roger International Campus, Ni Made Widani, S.E., M.M, Business Management and Accounting Service, Dr. I Putu Gede Diatmika, and BAV Tour Director, Teguh Nugraha. In addition, there was also the Principal of SMKN 1 Singaraja, Wayan Gunastra, S.Pd., M.Pd. The materials presented were related to business management, industry, and teaching factories.
PPG Undiksha Coordinator, Drs. I Gede Nurjaya, M.Pd., said that the involvement of DUDI in curriculum development is very important for strengthening practical aspects, which will later be transmitted to students. He affirmed that the practice is much more difficult than the theory. “In the academic, it is like just swimming in a pool. However, in the real/practical, we swim in an ocean with lots of waves. So there are lots of waves to deal with,” he said.
According to Nurjaya, practical knowledge is very important for PPG participants to have as a provision to train students later. Therefore, it is hoped that Undiksha’s collaboration with DUDI will be realized and they can become mentors through a teaching practitioner program.
The speaker, Fisson Sila Hari Purnawan, also considered collaboration between universities and DUDI very important. This collaboration can be a space to combine the experiences of the academic and the professional. “The relationship between the business and the industry is very important. In class, students only learn theory, while in the industry, they directly practice. So there must be collaboration and synergy between education and industry,” he said.
The same thing was said by Widani. According to her, PPG Undiksha must collaborate with the business to see students’ potential more clearly. “In the future, student output can be monitored from the start, where it fits. This means that there will be adjustments to the curriculum,” he said.
This friendly woman also stated that she is ready to work with Undiksha to increase student competence and share experiences in the industry she has been in for years.
Kesiapan untuk berkolaborasi dalam penyusunan kurikulum PPG Undiksha juga ditegaskan oleh Diatmika. Ia yang bergelut di jasa akuntan publik menyatakan kolaborasi memang harus dilakukan. “Saya siap untuk berkolaborasi,” ungkapnya.
Through this collaboration, PPG Undiksha is expected to be able to present teachers who are reliable and able to create generations who are skilled and ready to work. (hms)
