Singaraja-The 2021 Foreign Schooling Field Introduction Program (PLP-LN) which was rolled out by the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) in collaboration with Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) of the Philippines has been closed, Tuesday (1/6/2021). Apparently, students who take part in this international program have their own story. Stories that relate to motivation and experiences gained. One of them is from Ni Putu Ayu Niya Loviyani.
Niya, her nickname, is a student in the English Language Education Study Program. She shared her reasons for joining the PLP-LN program. The move was not solely due to gain experience in the field of teaching and learning. However, it is more than that to answer the doubts of a number of people that she can join an international program. That doubt, admittedly, made her uncomfortable, but it didn’t make her give up. She actually used that as a motivation to take part in the selection. “My academic advisor said if I didn’t try, I would have lost right then and there. So my motivation comes from the love of the people around me and my dream to be successful in the future,” she said, Tuesday (8/6/2021).
The implementation of the program which coincided with the Covid-19 pandemic provided an experience for him, maybe even for other students. PLP that runs online often causes students to experience signal problems. However, this semester VI student still understands and understands, then also adapts. “I automatically have to be able to adapt to situations and conditions,” she said.
Another challenge is the lack of confidence from a number of students to use English. Overcoming that, he revived the learning atmosphere by discussing and playing through several platforms. “This is where I learn to use what approach in learning,” she said.
This program reinforces the understanding that the figure of a teacher is not an easy job. Teachers must be able to shape character and be able to create comfort in students while ensuring that the transfer of knowledge continues to run well. “This program taught me about the responsibility for completing teacher assignments in one month, such as making lesson plans, materials, assessment rubrics, and assessments,” explained this white student.
Her struggle in this program is seen as a stepping stone as well as a motivation to continue her education to a higher level. “I hope that with this experience, I can become a good teacher and be loved by students. I want to find more experiences that can help make dreams come true,” she hoped.
In closing, she also expressed his gratitude to Undiksha for preparing this program. Likewise, his family and all his friends always provide support. “Thank you for the support because without it all I would not be able to get through this,” she concluded.
As previously reported, the PLP-LN program starts from May 3 to May 28, 2021. This program was attended by 3 English Language Education students, 2 Mathematics Education students, and 2 Biology Education students. This student previously participated in administrative selection, English Proficiency Test (EPT), English interview, PLP, and psychology. (hms)
