The state university entrance selection system 2023 is organized by the National Selection Team for New Student Admission or Seleksi Nasional Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru (SNPMB) of State Universities. Based on the Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 48 of 2022 concerning New Student Admissions for Diploma Programs and Undergraduate Programs at State Universities, there are 3 (three) entry points, namely the National Selection Based on Achievement or Seleksi Nasional Berbasis Prestasi (SNBP); National Selection Based on Test or Seleksi Nasional Berbasis Tes (SNBT); and Independent Selection. SNBP and SNBT are fully prepared by the SNPMB Team, while each state university fully manages the Independent Selection.
The SNBP is based on the results of academic achievement tracking. SNBP participants are 12th grade students who will graduate in 2023 and are free of charge for participation in SNBP. The minimum quota for the SNBP for each PTN is 20%. For students who are eligible to register for SNBP, report cards will be inputted through the School and Student Data Base. Furthermore, students who have passed SNBP 2023, as well as students who have passed National Selection for State Universities in 2021 and 2022, are not allowed to take the 2023 Computer-Based Written Test.
SNBT participants must take the Computer-Based Written Test held by the Computer-Based Written Test Center of State Universities. Participants are only allowed to take the Computer-Based Written Test once. To take the Computer-Based Written Tes, a registration fee is charged. Prospective participants who can take the 2023 Computer-Based Written Test are students who graduated in 2021, 2022, and 2023. The results of the Computer-Based Written Test are only valid for registering for SNBT 2023. The SNBT selection mechanism is carried out based on the results of the Computer-Based Written Test. It can be added with other criteria following the state universities’ provisions.
