Singaraja – The Rector of Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha), Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, welcomed an audience from the Head of the State Police (SPN) Polda Bali, Kombes Pol. Dewa Putu Eka Darmawan, S.I.K., M.H., along with his delegation, on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. The meeting aimed to discuss potential collaboration in strengthening human resource (HR) competencies, particularly in the field of education and training.
During the meeting, Kombes Pol. Dewa Darmawan emphasized that SPN Polda Bali continuously strives to improve the quality of education, with one of the strategies being to establish partnerships with universities. He highlighted several areas for potential collaboration, including the enhancement of the education curriculum and the development of educators’ competencies, aiming to produce more qualified police personnel capable of facing future challenges.
Additionally, Kombes Pol. Dewa Darmawan presented a plan to conduct short English courses for police staff within the Polda Bali environment. This program seeks to improve the English proficiency of police personnel, recognizing its importance in delivering quality services to the community, especially as Bali is an international tourist destination. In this regard, Undiksha’s D4 English Language for Business and Professional Study Program is expected to provide support by assigning competent lecturers as instructors for the language courses.
Prof. Lasmawan warmly welcomed the proposed collaboration from SPN Polda Bali, affirming that Undiksha is ready to commit to supporting the enhancement of HR quality, particularly in the fields of education and curriculum implementation, to contribute to the capacity development of police personnel in Bali. “We are ready to collaborate across various fields, especially in relation to strengthening education management and enhancing human resource quality at SPN Polda Bali,” said Prof. Lasmawan, accompanied by the Vice Rector for Academic and Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes.
This collaboration is expected to further optimize HR competency development within Polda Bali, while also supporting improved public services, particularly in the tourism sector, which is vital to the Bali community.
