Singaraja- The encouragement to be more concerned about cleanliness and waste management was promoted at the Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha). In the celebration of the National Waste Care Day (HPSN) 2025, the Buleleng Regency Environmental Service (DLH) held a socialization for students on Friday (7/3/2025).
The activity was also attended by the Head of Undiksha Academic and Student Affairs Bureau, Drs. I Made Yasa, M.Pd., who gave a warm welcome. In his speech, he emphasized that clean culture is very important and must be a priority concern, especially for Undiksha students. According to him, students as agents of change must have high awareness to keep the environment around them clean. “Clean culture must be a principle of life, so that we can bring Indonesia to a developed country that is free from waste,” he said.
This socialization has become an opportunity to provide education on how to preserve the environment, especially related to waste management. DLH Buleleng Regency hopes that students can become agents of change, who not only maintain cleanliness in the campus environment, but also spread this awareness to their families and their communities.
The HPSN 2025 commemoration starts from February to March 2025, with the celebration held on February 21. As part of the series of activities, DLH visited various schools, universities and campuses in the Singaraja area to educate the society on the importance of caring for waste. In addition, the people of Singaraja were also invited to be actively involved in environmental cleanup activities, according to the needs of their respective regions.
The theme of HPSN 2025 is “Collaboration for a Clean Indonesia,” which emphasizes the importance of gotong royong in maintaining cleanliness and environmental sustainability. Some of the activities held in the framework of HPSN 2025 include reducing plastic waste during the month of Ramadan, cleaning villages, beaches, mountains, and prayer places. In addition, DLH also conducts counseling and education to various educational institutions to encourage a clean culture among students.
With this socialization, it is hoped that a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable environment can be created in Buleleng, especially among the younger generation who have an important role in maintaining cleanliness and environmental sustainability. (hms)
