Singaraja- The four pillars of nationality should be upheld by Indonesian citizens. The government continues to take steps to strengthen implementation. As was taking place at the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha), Friday (1/4/2022). The pillars of nationality are socialized to students who are the next generation of the nation.
This socialization was held by members of the DPR RI Dapil Bali, I Ketut Kariyasa Adnyana, S.P together with DPK GMNI Undiksha. This event was attended by Undiksha Deputy Chancellor for Planning, Administration, Finance, and Human Resources, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd. He represented the chancellor as well as a resource person.
On this occasion, Kariyasa Adnyana, who was also a guest speaker, conveyed the four pillars of nationality, namely Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and Unity in Diversity, which are faced with challenges, especially among the younger generation, whose understanding tends to weaken. “Right now we are really worried, if we look at the results of the national insight survey for the younger generation it is very weak,” he said.
The people’s representative from Buleleng emphasized that this problem must receive serious attention. This needs to always get support, one of which is from the campus. Regarding strategies to increase insight into the pillars of nationality, according to him, conventional methods are not enough, but other methods are needed that are able to provide more massive education to the younger generation, such as through social media.
Meanwhile, Prof. Lasmawan said strengthening the four pillars of nationalism is currently seen as a necessity because the challenges faced by the nation, both internally and externally, are getting sharper. One of them is how global competition, and the influence of the revolution in communication, information, and ideology of other countries cannot be stopped by the existing technological advances and revolutions. “Of course, this is a challenge for us as a nation. How do we strengthen the understanding of every member of this nation on the ideology of their country,” he explained.
He emphasized that understanding and internalizing the four pillars of nationality is an urgent need and it is obligatory for every Indonesian person to understand and act on it, including the younger generation. “The younger generation has a basic obligation, a state obligation to better understand and understand your country’s ideology, understand the shape of your country, practice the motto Bhineka Tunggal Ika, and always think, behave, act based on the corridors of law as stipulated and stated empirically and implicitly. in the 1945 Constitution. I am sure that by being yourself, by becoming your own nation, the Indonesian nation will be increasingly recognized and even greater in the future,” he concluded. (hms)
