Students from the Philippines who take part in the Field Introduction Practice (PPL) program at the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) are not only busy with academic activities. However, they also have the opportunity to share their skills, one of which is in terms of make-up. In fact, in their lectures, they majored in English Education.
This activity took place on Monday (11/2/2019) at the Practice Room of the Beauty Care Study Program, PKK Department, Technical and Vocational Faculty. This was attended by a number of local study program students. Chair of LPPPM Undiksha, Prof. Dr. AAIN Marhaeni, M.A. said this demonstration was a way to motivate students to have other skills outside the major they chose in college. “This student from the Philippines is taking an English Education course. But have skills in cosmetology. He can make money,” she said.
It was further stated that in the 21st century, competition, especially in the world of work, is getting tighter. Therefore, skills are very necessary to have. This can also open a business independently. “From this, students will gain insight for further development,” she said.
Apart from demonstrations, students who take part in PPL for one month are also invited to take part in other activities, such as outbound to introduce themselves to the environment. Apart from that, we were also introduced to Balinese culture, especially Buleleng Regency, including tourist attractions. (hms)
