Singaraja– Students of the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) have made another achievement at a prestigious event. This time coming from the Department of Law and Citizenship, Faculty of Law and Social Sciences (FHIS), Lukas Norman Kbarek. This student from Papua succeeded in winning third place in the ASEAN-Indonesia Youth Ambassador election held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
To get this glorious achievement, he had to compete strictly with 1,030 participants from various universities in Indonesia. The process begins with administrative selection and essays. Then 105 people were selected to take part in the second stage of selection, namely the essay presentation. “From this, 20 people were selected to take part in the next selection in Jakarta from October 7 to 13 for quarantine and to receive supplies. I am grateful that I was one of those who passed,” he explained, confirmed, Tuesday (10/15/2019).
Armed with high enthusiasm, this student of the Law Study Program with a concentration in International Law was finally able to make achievements that were never thought of before. “The final is October 14th. To be at this stage is a great opportunity for me. It never occurred to me that I could be in the top 10. Even up to third place. This is a great gift,” he said.
It was also said that the achievement could not be separated from the support of a number of parties, from parents to the Undiksha academic community. After becoming the champion, he and other participants will start their duties as ASEAN-Indonesia Youth Ambassadors until 2021. “One of our tasks is to introduce ASEAN to the public,” he explained.
Regarding the achievement, this is not the first time he has won it. Previously, he had won a number of prizes in a number of competitions, one of which was a law-related debate. “I try to continue to improve myself,” added Lukas Kbarek.
The leadership of Undiksha gave appreciation for this achievement. It is hoped that other students can also do the same thing, even in bigger competitions. “This achievement is very important to increase the competitiveness of institutions. Of course, we really appreciate and thank you,” said Vice Chancellor III Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd. He who handles student affairs stated firmly to support the financing of student participation in the competition. “We also give awards to outstanding students,” he concluded. (hms)
