Singaraja- The results of the 2019 Joint State University Entrance Selection (SBMPTN) were announced on July 9. Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) as one of the Education Personnel Education Institutions (LPTK) accepted 1,295 prospective students from 4,970 applicants. The Faculty of Medicine, which was only founded in 2018, has quite a lot of interest.
Undiksha Chancellor, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd, explained that SBMPTN applicants do not only come from the Bali region but also from various regions in Indonesia. This is considered to show that public confidence in the existence of this university with eight faculties is quite large. “There’s quite a lot of interest. “We appreciate the people’s desire to be able to study at Undiksha,” he said accompanied by the Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Cooperation. Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.TI., Wednesday (10/7/2019).
It was further stated that in the national selection, there was tight competition in a number of study programs at Undiksha, namely Medicine, Biology, Mathematics Education, Accounting, Chemistry Education, Mathematics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Biology Education, and Management. Especially for the Faculty of Medicine, there were 675 people interested. However, the acceptance quota is only 20 people. “The highest score is also in Medicine. “Quite a lot of people are interested in this,” explained the Chancellor from Nusa Dua, Badung Regency.
It was also emphasized that Undiksha is one of 61 universities in Indonesia that uses one hundred percent of the Computer Based Written Examination (UTBK) scores as a determinant of graduation. It is hoped that, after the announcement, participants will be able to register via the page: http//registrcepat.undiksha.ac.id. “We hope that all those who pass can re-register at Undiksha,” he said.
As an institution whose role is to improve the quality of Human Resources (HR), Undiksha also receives a Bidikmisi allocation from the center. This year there were 668 people. Specifically for SBMPTN, of the 445 applicants, 234 were declared successful. “We also offer other scholarships and offer affordable tuition fees. “Which can be reached by all levels of society,” explained Jampel. Apart from SBMPTN, Undiksha is also still opening student admissions through the Joint Entrance Selection Independent Computer Based Testing (SMBJM-CBT) route until July 13, 2019. This route is for D-3 and S-1 programs. Previously, selection had also taken place through interest and talent searches. The overall quota for SMBJM is around one thousand people. “There is also a bidikmisi scholarship. The quota is around 67 people. All routes are on Bidikmisi. “Including the SNMPTN and the independent route for tracing talent interests for which the selection has been completed,” he said.
The former Dean of the Faculty of Education (FIP) said that he would continue to make breakthroughs to improve the quality of graduates. One of them is by increasing the grade of the D-3 study program to D-4. Namely Midwifery, Diploma-3 English, Accounting, Chemical Analysis, Maritime Aquaculture, Information Management, Electronics Engineering, Visual Communication Design, and Hospitality. All of them have been accredited by B. This is in accordance with Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education Regulation Number 54 of 2018 concerning the Implementation of Diploma Programs in Open Systems in Higher Education. “In the future, if a student initially chooses to take D-4, but is able to complete three years, he will not drop out. However, his graduation was given a D-3 level. Likewise, if you can only participate for two years, you will be given a D-2. “Except for the Midwifery Study Program, which has standard rules, you still have to be D-3 or D-4,” he explained. The breakthroughs made are not limited to that. It is also planned to establish a vocational or applied science faculty and open executive classes for prospective study programs. (hms)
