Singaraja– Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) has implemented electronic certificates for several services. This is to realize an effective and efficient service. More than a year running, the implementation of electronic certificates was reviewed by the Electronic Certification Center (BSrE)-National Cyber and Crypto Agency, Tuesday (26/10/2021).
The review was carried out by a team consisting of Elena Sabarina, Taufiq Shokhiful Azhar, and Affifa Nurrahmawati. The activity began with the clarification of several questions by the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) UPT team. In addition, there is also an explanation of technology renewal in the Esign system integrated with the Esign On-Premise service model and then followed by a review of the utilization level of the implementation of electronic certificates. Based on the results of a review from BSrE, it is concluded that the utilization of electronic certificates at Undiksha has been very good. The results obtained can be used as a reference for optimizing its utilization, including in improving the quality of BSrE services.
Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Cooperation of Undiksha, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I., explained that the application of electronic certificates at Undiksha has been running since 2019 based on a cooperation agreement with BSrE. “There are five systems that we have applied with this electronic certificate. The first is related to the legalization of diplomas, transcripts, and SKPI for graduates, an academic information system, a remuneration system, an e-office system both mobile and web-based. Moreover, there is also the submission of electronic signatures for all files or documents that can be used by lecturers, employees, and students,” he explained.
Since it was implemented, the use of electronic certificates, he said, had no problems with the system technically. However, gradually optimization will be carried out which is supported by changing mindsets or changing the culture of the academic community so that they want to use electronic signatures. “But in 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated us for every academic community, both lecturers, education staff, especially leaders to be able to use electronic signatures because we apply protocols, which are there is no interaction, then most of us do our work from home. So, I think this electronic signature is very useful, it helps in carrying out academic and non-academic activities,” he said. (pr)
