Singaraja- The Faculty of Sports and Health (FOK) of the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) held an offline and online workshop on Restructuring the Merdeka Campus Curriculum, Friday (10/7/2020). This activity is a form of following up on university policies that refer to the policies of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia.
The activity that took place at the FOK Jinengdalem campus presented resource persons, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Dantes who is an Undiksha academic. The event was opened by Vice Chancellor I Undiksha, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I. This activity is highly appreciated and it is hoped that through the restructuring of the independent campus curriculum, FOK will be able to develop its student human resources. “FOK as one of the faculties is spearheading Undiksha, especially in the field of sports. Besides having adequate content, it also has advantages. It has the potential to develop itself because Undiksha is located in Bali, many types of sports science can be developed here,” he said.
On this occasion, Rasben gave an introduction regarding the Merdeka Learning Campus program launched by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture. “Developing a culture is not only enough to develop human resources, but it also expands the opportunities for people to enter Undiksha by cultivating unique study programs. In the future, we have to think about the potential we have. So with this how can FOK become a Center of Excellence in the field of sports,” added the official from Badung.
Meanwhile, the Dean of FOK Undiksha, Ketut Budaya Astra, S.Pd., M.Pd., revealed that FOK as a part of Undiksha is certainly obliged to oversee programs launched by the University and ministries. Regarding making the faculty they make a center of excellence, Astra Culture states that it is serious about continuing to improve quality. “Through the restructuring of the Merdeka campus curriculum in 2020, we hope to be able to turn FOK into a Center of Excellence and produce outstanding athletes in sports. Of course, we need support from students, lecturers, staff, and also the community to achieve it, “he concluded.
The Chairperson of the Committee, I Gede Suwiwa, S,Pd.,M.Pd explained that before the workshop was held, a draft curriculum had been prepared for each study program. In this workshop, apart from hearing material presentations from resource persons, it is hoped that there will also be input from participants and related stakeholders. “This input will be discussed again regarding the draft curriculum which will be finalized later,” he added.
