Singaraja- The implementation of the independent campus policy issued by the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia continues to receive serious attention from the leadership of the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha). This policy was followed up to the level of implementation of student activities, which was formulated, Tuesday (10/3/2020).
The formulation which took place in the Rectorate’s Ganesha II Room involved a special team and was attended by representatives of student organizations. Vice Chancellor III Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., explained that the student programs discussed concerned the areas of reasoning, the areas of interest in talent, the areas of welfare, and the fields of alumni. Programs that are formulated from the university level to the requested study program must refer to Undiksha’s vision of becoming a superior university based on the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana in Asia in 2045. Apart from that, it also refers to institutional and study program accreditation, refers to university rankings, and refers to contracts. Chancellor’s performance with the ministry. “Those are four things that become a reference in the implementation of the student program,” he explained. On that occasion, it was also mentioned about the implementation of a three-semester study program outside the study program for students. It is hoped that this new policy will continue to have campaigned through study programs, including apprenticeship programs in State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), which the government will also continue to promote. The program is considered very beneficial for students, one of which is being able to increase competitiveness.
The results of this formulation will be disseminated to all faculties so that in the future they will have the same reference. From this, it is also believed that it will make it easier for student development, especially those related to competition. “In terms of student affairs clustering, Undiksha is ranked 36th nationally. With this program that was formulated from the start, we want the ranking to continue to rise,” he said.
To note, in 2019, hundreds of Undiksha students have succeeded in making achievements at provincial to international level competitions. In early 2020, various fields also appeared. This will continue to be encouraged which is also supported by more optimal coaching. (hms)
