Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) participated in forest reforestation activities in the Pangkung Paruk Village area, Seririt District, Buleleng Regency, Thursday (6/2/2020). In addition, there are dozens of students who are members of the Student Activity Unit (UMK) of the Student Regiment, Scout UKM, and Affirmation program students.
The Chancellor of Jampel considered this program very extraordinary because it is also in line with the Tri Hita Karana philosophy which is the basis for realizing Undiksha’s vision to become a superior university in Asia in 2045. , we must protect nature. Because from nature, humans can be comfortable, can work, can continue to the next generation, “he explained.
On that occasion, it was also revealed that life is like a kiss ring bead. Living things are beads and cousins are the environment. “If you want the beads to be healthy, then we must protect the environment,” he said. It was emphasized that Undiksha as an institution engaged in the field of education will always support the environmental saving movement which the government continues to encourage. “I give full support to the Buleleng Regency Government. This is also an extraordinary activity related to the policies and programs of the Bali provincial government Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali, in accordance with Undiksha’s vision,” said Jampel.
The largest state university in North Bali has given the Tri Hita Karana course specifically to students. This is in line with the expectations of the Regent of Buleleng, Putu Agus Suradnyana, S.T., regarding the important role of educational institutions in providing education related to the environment. “This is our form of commitment. We have implemented character education in the Tri Hita Karana course,” he added.
Buleleng Regent, Agus Suradnyana added that protecting the forest really needs to be done because it has enormous benefits for life, one of which is as a source of water. Even if it is managed properly, it will be able to support the tourism sector. “Buleleng with geographical conditions that are mountainous, with sustainable forests will be able to become a tourist attraction. Some say this is the real Bali,” he said. For this, he invited all levels of society, including the TNI and Polri, to jointly carry out a movement to save the environment. “Let’s preserve the forest,” he said.
The Head of Buleleng Police, AKBP I Made Sinar Subawa stated firmly that he supports the implementation of this activity. In fact, his party is ready to take preventive steps to prevent forest destruction. “We need to do prevention or rehabilitation because this forest has been damaged, and there is illegal logging. We have processed it. But for how to restore it, the Regent has organized this activity with the Dandim. This is a very positive activity, it must be sustainable. We work hand in hand to preserve this forest,” he said. The same thing was conveyed by the Dandim 1609/Buleleng, Lt. Col. Muhammad Windra Lisrianto. His party is committed to participating in preserving forests through intensive supervision. (hms)
