The Field Experience Program (PPL) and Field Work Practices (PKL) launched by the Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) are not only in the regions. This university, which already has a Faculty of Medicine (FK), also “colonized” abroad. One of them is to broaden students’ horizons in the international world.
This program has been running in 2017 and 2018. There are dozens of students from a number of faculties who have departed. Specifically for 2019, recruitment has begun. There were more than 200 registrants and came from all faculties. Thursday (8/11/2018), the stage has reached socialization and selection. “In previous years, the students who took part were usually from the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS), the Faculty of Engineering and Vocational Affairs (FTK), and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. But those taking part in the selection now come from all faculties. “This is very positive,” said the Head of LPPPM Undiksha, Prof. Dr. A.A.I.N. Marhaeni, M.A., after opening the socialization in the Ganesha III Room, Undiksha Rectorate.
This, he continued, cannot be separated from the motivation of the students who left previously. Students who are declared to have passed will be divided into taking part in PPL and PKL. There are in Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia and Vietnam. “In terms of numbers, we continue to push for an increase. Likewise quality. “By mid-2019 we also hope to expand to Asian countries,” she explained. Student departure is scheduled for two periods, namely January and July. Different from 2017 and 2018 only in July. “We continue to innovate. “Including recruitment, it started long ago,” said Marhaeni.
In terms of financing, it was emphasized that the university did not cover one hundred percent. It is hoped that there will be self-financing from student parents. “In previous years, we provided quite a lot of subsidies for student departures. But now we encourage self-financing. Although we prepared funds for them, not much. “This is also related to student UKT funds for PPL and PKL not being sufficient for overseas funds,” she said.
The launch of this program is also to support the internationalization of universities which was launched in 2019. “Realizing internationalization is not easy. PPL and PKL are one way. “We encourage students to take part,” she concluded.
