Especially for 2019, new admissions were made for the January-February period as many as 19 people. It’s just that it comes gradually. They came from universities in the Philippines, namely the University of Saint Anthony, Mariano Marcos University, University of Santo Tomas, Tarlac Agricultural University, Central Luzon State University, Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology, and Iloilo Science and Technology University Miagao Campus Brgy. Igtuba. Meanwhile for Thailand, it comes from Pronce of Songkla University. “There are 14 PPLs and 5 PKLs. The arrival is gradual,” he explained.
Especially for PPL, these students follow for one month and PKL for four months. This program by Undiksha is also supported by adequate infrastructure, including residential accommodation. “We are very ready to implement this program,” he said. It was further stated that the student was not only involved in academic activities. But also given the opportunity to get to know Balinese culture, especially Buleleng and tourist attractions. “This is also an effort to introduce the region. We prepare special companions if they want to go anywhere,” said Marhaeni. In addition, the same program also exists in the July-August period. However, the number of students is uncertain.
I Nyoman Jampel said Undiksha made 2019 an internationalization. PPL and PKL is one of the efforts to make this happen. “This is one way to make it happen. We don’t just send students abroad. But they also accept it,” he said accompanied by Vice Chancellor I, Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Putu Arnyana, M.Sc.
Through this program, it is hoped that it will increase Undiksha’s grades and realize the vision of becoming a superior university based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in Asia by 2045. “We hope that in the future more and more people will join this program. This includes lecturers, who can teach abroad and those who are abroad can come here. We encourage it,” explained the Chancellor from South Kuta, Badung Regency.
In addition to the Philippines and Thailand, the largest public university in North Bali is also cooperating with a number of universities in Vietnam. It is targeted that later it can expand to a number of countries in Asia, such as China, Malaysia and Taiwan, and even to Australia. To achieve this, the quality of Human Resources is continuously improved. “Realizing internationalization, of course, cooperation needs to be expanded. To increase mastery of foreign languages, we also have a program,” said the former Vice Chancellor II of Undiksha. Meanwhile, specifically for Undiksha students who are street vendors and PPL abroad, the January-February period reached 33 people by targeting universities in Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines.
