Singaraja- Hundreds of high school/vocational school graduates from a number of regions who passed the National Selection for State University Entrance (SNMPTN) re-registered at the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha), on Monday (20/5/2019).
Based on the data collected, there were 671 applicants who passed the SNMPTN at the university located in Singaraja City, Buleleng. They chose study programs in eight faculties, starting from the Faculty of Languages and Arts, Faculty of Sports and Health, Faculty of Engineering and Vocational Studies, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Faculty of Medicine. However, 617 people re-registered.
Registration which took place in the Undiksha Auditorium was directly monitored by the Chancellor, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd, accompanied by the Vice Chancellor. In general, implementation was observed to be smooth. On the sidelines, it was announced that more than 200 applicants had qualified as Bidikmisi scholarship recipients. In fact, there are some from the Faculty of Medicine that have only been established for a year. “We continue to propose as many Bidikmisi scholarships as possible to the center,” he explained.
It was further stated that as an A-accredited higher education institution, Undiksha also offers affordable education costs, with the hope that it can be affordable for all levels of society. “The cost of education is popular and can be loved by the people. That is our commitment,” he said.
Especially for new students, there is great hope that they will be able to show their qualities and be able to produce achievements, both in academic and non-academic fields. This is very important to realize Undiksha’s vision of becoming a superior university based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in Asia by 2045. “We continue to encourage this. “The institution is also making various efforts to improve quality,” he said.
