Singaraja- Another achievement at the international level was won by students of the Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha). This time, it came from the Indonesia International Invention Expo (IIIEX 2022), which took place at Universitas Negeri Semarang on October 15 2022. The Undiksha team consisted of Kadek Nova Suadnyana from the History Education Study Program, Kadek Desika Natalia from the Biology Study Program, I Komang Andi Suryawan from Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program, Ni Made Rida Divayani from the History Education Study Program, and Kadek Faldy Dwi Surastawan from the Diploma III Library Study Program Successfully won a silver medal.
The Undiksha team competed with 145 teams from 20 countries in this event. The work presented is about Pecalang Segara research in Pemuteran Village. The team leader, Nova Suadnyana, explained that the work was created because it saw the uniqueness of Pemuteran Village, which has Pecalang in maritime safety. Usually, pecalang in Bali is only on duty when there are religious ceremonies, while pecalang segara is primarily focused on protecting the sea area to prevent illegal actions. “We are trying to study this from an academic point of view,” he said, Wednesday (19/10/2022).
This 5th-semester student hopes that through this work, the Government of Bali province can make regulations so that each village in Bali forms Pecalang Segara in each Regency/City as a form of effort to protect and preserve beaches/seas, which are also an attraction for tourists.
Delivered further, under the guidance of I Putu Hendra Mas Martayana, S.Pd., M.A., preparation for this competition took about two months, starting from the registration stage, script writing, to the competition. Even though there were obstacles that made him and his team unable to participate s offline, he said that this had paid off with the awards he had won.
Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Public Relations, and Alumni of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., appreciated this achievement. He hopes that this achievement can continue to increase student motivation to compete. “We at the leadership are also proud of this achievement.
