Singaraja- The Faculty of Languages and Arts, University of Education, Ganesha (FBS-Undiksha) prepared an activity plan and budget for 2022, Friday (5/2/2021). The event which took place in the FBS Nitisastra Room was attended by Heads of Departments and Study Program Coordinators.
FBS Dean, Prof. Dr. I Made Sutama, M.Pd., in his remarks said that at the Development and Program Coordination Meeting (Rakorbang), in 2022, Undiksha was proclaimed an International Reputable University in Education and Leadership (IRUEL), as part of efforts to accelerate realizing Undiksha’s vision to become a superior university based on the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana in Asia in 2045. It was emphasized that FBS as one of the faculties that has been around for a long time is committed to supporting this by preparing relevant programs. “That (IRUEL program, red) is our main reference,” he said. Other programs that are an integral part of realizing Undiksha as IRUEL, such as clustering are also included as a concern. Likewise, other programs related to Higher Education Key Performance Indicators (IKU).
Deputy Chancellor of Undiksha for Planning, Administration, Finance, and Human Resources (PAK-SDM), Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd., was one of the speakers at this event. On that occasion, he explained that in order to realize Undiksha as IRUEL, there are at least six aspects that need to be strengthened, namely acceleration towards the Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings (QS-WUR), collaborative research and publications, strengthening the core of education and leadership, the number of lecturers and students foreigners, the absorption of graduates and student entrepreneurship as well as the acceleration of performance contract achievements and State Universities with Legal Entities (PTN-BH). “These programs must be considered by the faculty in designing programs related to IRUEL,” he emphasized.
Still related to IRUEL, FBS is also encouraged to realize international standard study programs and maximize the management of potential study programs for foreign student admissions, such as the Indonesian Language Education Study Program and the Balinese Language Education Study Program. Apart from that, there is also a need to develop collaborative study programs with world-class partners, involve practitioners on campus, and boost the work of lecturers, one of which is through research so that it can be utilized by society and industry. A number of these things are included as the basis for the transformation of higher education. “These things really support the development of faculties and universities,” he said.
On this occasion, this academic from Bonyoh Village, Kintamani District, Bangli Regency specifically conveyed the budget allocation for program implementation, both in the academic, planning, and student affairs fields. It is asked to be proportional. “The budget allocation must be well designed so that it really supports the implementation of the program,” he concluded. (hms)
