Prof. Dr. Maria Goreti Rini Kristiantari, M.Pd was born in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, March 21, 1959. She is the second of seven children of the RG couple. Sudiyono (late) was a teacher and school principal who had served in Bukitinggi Padang due to official ties. A few years later she was transferred to the Banyumas Carriageship until her retirement came and her mother was Lucia Bintarti (late).
She is married to I Gusti Agung Oka Negara and is blessed with two children, her first child I Gusti Agung Sasih Gayatri who currently works as a lecturer at Triatma Mulya University, Jembrana Campus, and I Gusti Agung Jaya Yoga who works as an entrepreneur. Now her happiness is more complete with the presence of 5 grandchildren.
Maria Goretti completed her elementary school education at SD Negeri 2 Purworejo Klampok Banjarnegara, Central Java, and her junior high school at SMP Negeri 1 Purworejo Klampok, high school at SMA Stella Duce Yogyakarta (the Tarakanita Foundation which only accepts female students) due to the distance where she lives is quite far. her parents left her at the girls’ dormitory at the school where the nuns were managing the hostel. When she first entered the hostel, she was surprised because the rules were very strict and disciplined. After graduating from high school, she decided to continue on to tertiary education in Yogyakarta, namely IKIP Sanata Dharma, Masters Education at IKIP Malang, and PhD she took at Malang State University.
While serving as a lecturer since 1991 she had the opportunity to assist GTK directorate activities. Apart from that, she was also given the opportunity to visit various provinces in Indonesia from Papua to Aceh, and was even given the opportunity to take part in a short training activity in the United States.
