Singaraja- The Faculty of Sports and Health at the Ganesha University of Education (FOK-Undiksha) pays attention to environmental sustainability. This is shown through the processing of organic-based waste Eco Enzyme. This program is also campaigned for the community, one of which is in Banyuasri Village, Buleleng Regency through the Community Service (PkM) program, Saturday (1/5/2021).
The activity was chaired by Dr. Made Agus Wijaya, M.Pd, with members I Gede Suwiwa, S.Pd., M.Pd., and Dr. I Ketut Yoda, S.Pd., M.Or. During the activities, Agus Wijaya explained Undiksha as one of the higher education institutions in Bali has a commitment to always implement the Tri Hita Karana philosophy, consisting ofParahyangan, namely the good relationship between humans and God, People, namely good relations between human beings, andPalemahan, namely the good relationship between humans and nature. “This PkM activity is a form of implementation of plain,” he explained.
The choice of Banyuasri Village as the target of the activity, he continued, was based on observations, not many people were familiar with organic waste-based processing technology. eco enzyme. So far, steps taken to handle waste have focused more on sorting and recycling in general. “From this, we took the initiative to provide eco enzyme-based organic waste processing assistance,” he said. Another reason, said Agus Wijaya, is because the Banyuasri Village is included as a downstream area of the Banyumala River that enters its roadmap Undiksha Community Service Program. “This roadmap is also one of the considerations,” he said.
Delivered further, the application of eco enzyme technology for waste treatment because it is simpler and more practical. Practically what is meant is that in terms of processing it is very simple, using materials that are easily available and economical. “The only ingredients are brown sugar or molasses, organic materials in the form of kitchen waste, vegetables or fruit that are no longer used, and water. Very simple. It’s easy for people to make it,” he explained.
Eco enzyme products, he continued, can be used in everyday household life, such as washing kitchen furniture, washing clothes, cleaning floors, as a disinfectant, and also hand sanitizer. Besides that, it can also be used for liquid organic fertilizer. “This product has various benefits, so it deserves to be continuously developed,” he added.
The opening of the PkM activities which took place at the Banyuasri Pakraman Village Wantilan was attended by the Head of the Buleleng Sub-District, I Nyoman Riang Pustaka, S.IP. He appreciated the implementation of this activity. “Eco Enzyme actually is our blessing in loving and protecting the environment of the universe. With its various benefits, let’s process organic waste into Eco Enzyme,” he said to the 30 mentoring participants.
The implementation of this program presented two speakers, namely Ferry Tanaya, S.T., from the CommunityEco Enzyme Buleleng, and I Ketut Witama, S.Sos., Buleleng Environmental Service Extension. The material presented consists of theory and manufacturing practice eco enzyme. At the end of the activity, the service team handed over 5-liter eco enzyme pure, hand sanitizer, receptacle/tonk chlorine, and molasses to the Banyuasri Village Head, Ketut Darmika, S.Pd, who was accompanied by the Banyuasri Babinkamtibmas and the Head of the Environment.
