Singaraja – Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) continues to strive to realize its vision of becoming a superior university based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in Asia by 2045. One way is through consolidating and strengthening international publications and joint research. This was also discussed in the Focus Discussion Group (FGD) by presenting the resource person, Dr. Bagus Putra Muljadi, Director of Indonesia Doctoral Training Partnership at Nottingham University, England, Friday (11/1/2019).
Undiksha Chancellor, Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., said that international publications have continuously campaigned for teaching staff. In fact, Undiksha itself has formed a special support team to make this happen. However, according to him, it is still necessary to adopt knowledge and strategies from other parties. “We want to be able to realize that vision more quickly. “At least 2025,” he stressed.
Dr. Bagus Putra Muljadi is also part of the Indonesian diaspora. He is a graduate of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). Jampel believes that he really needs to emulate his efforts to go to Nottingham University to take part in scientific development. “We recommend that lecturers under 35 years of age continue their education abroad,” he said. Through the FGD attended by this lecturer, it is hoped that sustainable collaboration will emerge. “We are very grateful for visiting and sharing information,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dr. Bagus Putra Muljadi said that Nottingham University is very open to collaborating in scientific research. Not only in one scientific discipline but also multidisciplinary. Like the sports field. There are no specific universities that are in the top 75 in the world. However, the research can be collaborated with science or engineering. “If you have an idea to collaborate, that’s very good. “You can submit a proposal,” he said. He continued, that this collaboration is also one of the strategies to realize the internationalization of Undiksha which was launched in 2019. “Through this, the publication of research results will be wider,” he said. He added that in the research, the university also allocated a budget, including implementation using a collaboration system. “So we both bear the risk,” he added. (hms)
