Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) presented a Communication Expert, Dr. Aqua Dwipayana at the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students, Friday (11/9/2020). He shares communication and motivation through webinars. The material is important to support the education of students.
Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd, in his remarks, said that the presence of this communication expert from Sumatra was specifically requested during his busy schedule to encourage the students he called young Ganesha. “I hope that with his inspiration, new students can finish their studies on time. And also the enthusiasm to improve education to a higher level, “he said. The material presented by Jampel is believed to be able to improve the quality and happiness of new students and their families to become a generation of excellence and character for advanced Indonesia.
In the sharing session, Dr. Aqua looked really excited. Before sharing knowledge, he stated his presence at Undiksha which was also welcomed by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Alumni and Public Relations, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., initially just to stay in touch. “And it turns out that as soon as they meet, they are immediately given good fortune sharing motivation and communication with young Ganesh brothers and sisters. This is a great honor for me,” he said.
On this occasion, he congratulated the new students for being part of the Undiksha family. “Why do I say that, because there are many people in Indonesia who really want to study at the Ganesha University of Education, but not many get the chance. In fact, I got information from Prof. Jampel, which registered up to ten thousand people and was accepted by no more than three thousand people. It means that this young Ganesha is the best,” he said.
For this success, students are invited to be grateful for being honored, and for the opportunity to join universities in the country. “I always convey to students, wherever we are, wherever we study, in which faculties and departments, the first thing is gratitude and we must learn in totality. What does that mean, when we have chosen a department or faculty, we believe it is the best for us,” said the father of Alira Vania Putri Dwipayana and Savero Karmiveta Dwipayana.
The man who experienced the struggle of studying at his own expense up to the doctoral level also emphasized that as part of a tertiary institution, students are not only focused on lectures. As a medium for self-improvement, participation in organizations also needs to be done. In certain semesters, you also need to actively seek outside experience through internship programs and so on. “Experience is important, when we do internships, be serious, persevere, study, deepen the knowledge, and then at the end of the internship don’t forget we ask for a certificate. This is important. I always say this apprentice is our attempt at stealing start compared to other friends,” he explained.
His views on the importance of apprenticeship cannot be separated from the current condition of companies, including in Indonesia, ranging from small to large-scale experience as an indicator of hiring. “When doing the interview test, the question is what experience do you have as a fresh graduate? If we don’t have any experience, there will definitely be deep sadness, great disappointment,” he said.
Delivered further, students have an obligation to study formally. However, informally it is also necessary to develop communication skills that can be a bridge to facilitate lectures. No less important, students must have the ability to build relationships. “And I also want to emphasize to my younger siblings, one respect for our lecturers. Usually, successful people always respect their teachers. We also have to be empathetic,” concluded Aqua Dwipayana. (hms)
