Singaraja- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) held an initial orientation for Pre-position Teacher Profession or Pendidikan Profesi Guru (PPG) students in 2022 at the Nitisastra Room, Faculty of Language and Arts, Thursday (6/10/2022). Through this opportunity, students consisting of several scientific clumps are invited to be adaptive and able to collaborate.
Undiksha PPG Coordinator, Drs. I Gede Nurjaya, M.Pd., explained that the Pre-service PPG in 2022 has a new model. The implementation is divided based on scientific clumps. Undiksha participants consist of education science clumps, language and literature clumps, science clumps, Physical Education, Health and Recreation clumps, and social science clumps, unlike the previous Pre-position PPG, which was based on the field of study.
The division of participants based on scientific clusters is because the Pre-Position PPG in 2022 discusses or provides education on pedagogical aspects. Another new thing is the curriculum structure. In terms of courses, in this Pre-Position PPG, there are core courses that participants must attend. Then participants are also given to choose courses called selective courses. In addition, universities are also given to develop a special course that becomes a characteristic called an elective course.
According to Nurjaya, the existence of a new model for pre-position PPG needs to be supported by collaborative abilities between participants or students and all education policymakers. Collaborative ability will build togetherness and harmony. These two things are also a form of implementation of Tri Hita Karana. “Tri hita karana is the philosophy of PPG Undiksha, which is also the philosophy of Undiksha. We realize it in the implementation of learning in terms of shaping the character of teachers,” he said.
He further explained that in relation to the development of science, technology, and society, adaptive abilities are also necessary for students. “So that adaptive, flexible ability must be trained from now on and it will be passed on to their students. So we will no longer create a rigid generation but a generation that is adaptive, flexible, and can adjust to existing developments,” he said.
Participants also received material from Undiksha’s Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I., on higher education transformation and advanced Indonesian teachers. For information, there are 127 pre-position PPG participants in 2022. After the initial orientation, all of them will attend lectures for two semesters. (hms)
