Singaraja- The Faculty of Education, Ganesha University of Education (FIP Undiksha) through the Student Executive Body (BEM) held the 2021 XVII National Level Virtuous Youth Election (PRB). The event which was attended by SMA/SMK/MA students and students from all over Indonesia competed for the The Governor of Bali rotates and is held semi-online, where the opening is held at the Undiksha Auditorium Building, Sunday (24/10/2021) while continuing to implement the health protocol. Meanwhile, participants and invitees took part through the Zoom Meeting application.
Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs, Public Relations, and Undiksha Alumni, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd. who attended and opened the event expressed their appreciation to BEM FIP Undiksha who had contributed positively to creating a superior and character generation. “Being a superior human being is not enough with intellectual intelligence, but must be balanced with emotional-spiritual intelligence, so our success is determined not only by intellectuals but also by personality, character and soft skills, these things contribute a lot to social life. Therefore, this is very important for all of us, in order to produce intelligent, creative, innovative people who also have Indonesian character,” he said.
He further conveyed, through this activity which is routinely carried out every year, the winners can become ambassadors for the formation of the nation’s character. “I hope this activity will continue to be carried out because it is able to make a very positive contribution to the younger generation. We hope that later the younger siblings who are selected as winners can become ambassadors for the people of Indonesia, even the world,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Head of the XVII DRR Committee, Ni Putu Putri Budiastini, in her report stated that the number of DRR participants this year had increased significantly from previous years, “This year’s participants were able to reach 128 participants from various schools and universities in Indonesia,” she said. Furthermore, Putri said that to be at this stage, participants had to go through several stages. “Through a fairly strict selection, the top 15 finalists were obtained who will take personality tests, essay presentations, video gait assessments, and talent interest tests before appearing on the night of the Grand Final which will be held on Thursday, 28 October 2021, coinciding with the celebration of the Youth Pledge Day, remembering the struggle of Indonesian youths for the Indonesian state,” she concluded.
