Singaraja – The Teacher Profession Education (PPG) program at Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) held a socialization and handover ceremony for the Field Experience Program (PPL) II for the Semester II PPG Teacher Candidates Batch 2 of 2024 to partner schools at Sunari Hotel, Lovina, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
This event was attended by principals from partner schools in Buleleng District, along with supervisor teachers. The PPG Undiksha Coordinator, Drs. I Gede Nurjaya, M.Pd., highlighted that many PPG students have no prior teaching experience. Therefore, he emphasized the crucial role of school Principals and Supervising Teachers in providing optimal guidance. “I hope that the principals and supervising teachers will guide, train, and mentor the students to develop their teaching competencies enabling them to become professional educators,” he stated.
According to Nurjaya, the teaching profession encompasses various aspects, including teaching, educating, and classroom management. He expressed his hope that principals and supervising teachers would offer comprehensive guidance, helping teacher candidates understand the multiple dimensions of the teaching profession.
Furthermore, Nurjaya expressed his appreciation for the presence of school principals and supervising teachers at the event acknowledging their strong commitment to producing professional teachers who will make positive contributions to Indonesia’s education system.
The implementation of PPL II emphasizes a more independent learning approach, which differs from the previous PPL I. The program consists of six phases, each involving the active participation of supervisors throughout every cycle.
This PPL II is expected to provide in-depth teaching experience for PPG students, preparing them to become competent and professional teachers in the future.
