Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) evaluating the management of Teacher Professional Education (PPG) in 2018 at the Harris Hotel Kuta Galleria, 14 to 16 December 2018.
Chairman of PPG Undiksha, Drs. I Gede Nurjaya, M.Pd., said that in 2018, the PPG launched by state universities in North Bali, namely subsidized pre-service PPG 1 (ongoing), subsidized pre-service PPG 2, subsidized pre-service PPG 3 (semester I), SM PPG -3T generation VI, PPG in positions of stages 1 and 2 (online), PPG in the position of Special Regional Teacher (Gurdasus) and PPG in the position of secondary stage 2. “This year, there are eight PPGs being implemented by Undiksha,” he explained.
The program was attended by 835 students from a number of regions in Indonesia with a total of 12 study programs. According to the evaluation results, the participant graduation rate is always above the national average, namely 81.53 percent. The national pass percentage for UKM PPG participants for the September period is 58 percent. Specifically for the Undiksha PPG management service, from interviews and extracts from participants’ comments from various social media, it has advantages in terms of how easy it is for participants to communicate with managers, and the management’s readiness to accept input, criticism, and complaints. Apart from that, the committee was very easy to contact and did not keep their distance. “This year’s department management services also experienced an increase in satisfaction from before. “Almost everyone appreciates and admires online services,” he explained.
On the positive side, this national program is still mired in problems. As is the case with information from the Ministry which is often sudden and seems not well planned. Undiksha Chancellor, Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., appreciated the performance of a team that is highly committed and can work in formal and non-formal situations. It was also conveyed that the evaluation results would be used as a basis for taking action to strengthen performance and minimize the emergence of problems. “For the next program, we hope it can be better than this year,” he explained accompanied by Deputy Chancellor I, Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Putu Arnyana, M.Sc.(hms)
