Singaraja- Hundreds of teachers took part in the initial orientation of the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) In Position Phase V of 2019 at the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha). The teachers from the regions of Bali, NTB, and NTT are expected to be able to contribute more optimally in accelerating the realization of Indonesia’s golden generation in 2045. “Teachers have a very important role in this,” said Undiksha Chancellor, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd when opening the event at the Auditorium, on Wednesday (25/9/2019).
By participating in the program, teachers are also expected to be more professional, so that they are more able to face future competitiveness. No less importantly, they also have to master technology, produce teaching innovations, research, and community service. “What kind of teaching content, can be made? From the pedagogical aspect, it also has to be improved,” he explained.
Undiksha makes the Tri Hita Karana philosophy the basis for building institutions. The philosophy that is universal in nature invites the entire academic community to establish good relations with God, with others, and with the environment. PPG participants must also uphold it. From this, a harmonious life will be born. “If this is really implemented, there will be harmonization. These teachers have to make that happen. We also want this teacher to have more character. This is very important. It’s not enough just to rely on academic ability,” he said.
Delivered further, at PPG In this Position, Undiksha only received quotas from the center. In addition, there is also a Pre-service PPG. As an educational institution, Undiksha is ready to work on this program to the fullest, especially to reach Eastern Indonesia. “We are ready to become a center for improving the quality of teachers in mastering pedagogy and technology. Undiksha is ready,” he said.
Meanwhile, PPG Undiksha Coordinator, Drs. I Gede Nurjaya, M.Pd., explained that the number of participants at this stage reached 289 people, consisting of Balinese Language Education, Indonesian Language Education, Elementary School Teacher Education, Early Childhood Teacher Education, Science Education and Physical Education, Sports and Health. Prior to entering the initial orientation, previously conducted online learning for three months. When you enter university, you must attend workshops, PPL to a number of partner schools, performance tests, and knowledge tests according to a predetermined schedule. “Those steps have to be done formally.
