Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) is holding an academic orientation for participants in Category I Teacher Professional Education (PPG Daljab) 2022, Monday (18/7/2022). Through this activity, participants are invited to become adaptive teachers.
The academic orientation which took place online was opened by Undiksha Vice Chancellor for Academic and Cooperation Affairs, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I. He, who represented the Chancellor, gave his appreciation to the enthusiastic and enthusiastic teachers to take part in PPG. He emphasized that this national program is one of the media to improve teacher competence and professionalism. In the educational process, teachers will be faced with a number of learning activities in the form of deepening the material, developing learning tools, and practicing field experience (PPL). “We hope that by participating in PPG, teachers can be more professional in carrying out their duties,” he said.
Delivered further, in order to build superior Human Resources (HR), teachers, especially in basic education have a very important role. Teachers are not only academic educators but also build student character. “Teachers in primary education have a bigger responsibility than teachers in high school or college,” he said.
Therefore, continued Rasben Dantes, increasing teacher professionalism really needs to be done. This is also important to face the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 which has changed the order of life, both daily life and teaching and learning activities. He mentioned, the learning concept of students today is different from the school world. Students can easily access various learning resource platforms. This needs to be supported by the adaptive attitude of the teachers. How teachers can develop creative ideas and learning innovations without ignoring the essence of education.
PPG Undiksha Coordinator, Drs. I Gede Nurjaya, M.Pd., explained that PPG Daljab Category I in 2022 was attended by 1,145 participants who were appointed before 2015. The participants consisted of Balinese, Indonesian, English, guidance and counseling, science, mathematics, PGPAUD. , PGSD, physical and health education, Pancasila and citizenship education, fine arts, computer engineering, and informatics.
He who also presented material about the direction and policy of PPG conveyed that there is an expected learning achievement through PPG. First, the participants are able to carry out their professional duties as charming educators based on an attitude of love for the motherland, authoritative, firm, disciplined, full of calling, samapta, accompanied by a spirit of completeness and generosity. Second, able to formulate achievement indicators of higher-order thinking learning that students must possess including attitudes, knowledge, and skills as a whole (critical, creative, communication, and collaborative) that are future-oriented (adaptive and flexible). Third, master the teaching material including advanced material in a meaningful way. (hms)
