Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education has again been entrusted with implementing the 2021 In-service Teacher Professional Education (PPG-Daljab) program. This superior accredited university accepts 1,200 prospective students in accordance with those stipulated by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The students consist of eleven fields of study.
PPG Undiksha Coordinator, I Gede Nurjaya, M.Pd., Thursday (8/4/2021) explained the field of study, namely Balinese Language Education, Indonesian Language Education, English Education, Counseling Guidance, Elementary Class Teachers, Kindergarten Class Teachers, Science Education, Mathematics Education, Physical Education, Sports and Health, Fine Arts Education, and Computer Engineering and Informatics Education. The prospective students come from various regions in Indonesia. “This number is divided into three batches. Undiksha has been given a lot by prospective students,” he explained.
Delivered further, there are a number of stages carried out in this PPG program. The activity begins with the calling of participants which includes confirmation of willingness, determination of participants, self-report, and independent learning. Furthermore, the implementation stage which includes student orientation, material deepening, learning design, comprehensive testing, and PPL. The final stage was the PPG Student Competency Test (UKM). “Implementation of PPG for each class for four months,” he explained.
Supporting the implementation of this national program, Tuesday (6/4/2021), Undiksha held the recruitment and refreshment of lecturer and teacher instructors. These lecturers will later be tasked with guiding students in developing learning tools and PPL activities and the teacher will be tasked with accompanying PPG lecturers/instructors.
Undiksha Deputy Chancellor for Academic and Cooperation Affairs, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I., who opened the event, said that PPG is one of the spearheads of the government’s mainstay in producing superior, more professional, and more qualified teachers. Such a teacher is the foundation for “giving birth” to excellent Human Resources (HR), as is the ideal of the Indonesian nation to support realizing an advanced nation.
The importance of the PPG Program, according to this academic from Badung Regency, needs to be supported with maximum performance by the instructors. Instructors are able to provide guidance, awaken the potential possessed by the participants, as well as encourage them to continue to innovate, especially in the field of teaching.
