Singaraja- The Postgraduate Program at the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) is again holding an open doctoral exam in mid-February 2021. There are two promovendus from different study programs. First, Gede Sukanaya from the Education Science Study Program and I Made Elia Cahaya from the Basic Education Study Program.
The exam for Gede Sukanaya took place, Tuesday (16/2/2021). He, who is the head of SMKN 1 Kubutambahan, raised research on “Portfolio Assessment of English Writing Ability and Study Discipline with Student Self-Efficacy Covariables”. This research cannot be separated from the gap between expectations and reality in students’ English skills, especially in writing, as a result of using inappropriate assessments. “Portfolio assessment can be a solution so that students’ English writing skills get better,” he said.
He hopes that the results of this research can support the development of education in other schools, with the hope that it will have an impact on student learning achievement which is getting better. “This assessment is effective for improving student achievement. I hope this can later be applied and continue to be developed, “he said.
Meanwhile, Elijah Cahaya took the exam, Wednesday (17/2/2021). She raised the research “The Influence of the Guided Inquiry Learning Model on Creativity and Language Skills in View of the Social Interaction Capabilities of Group B Kindergarten Children in North Kuta District, Badung Regency”. As a result, this learning model is effective to apply. Specifically, regarding lectures at the Undiksha Postgraduate Program, he stated that he received good service, including guidance from the promoter and co-promoter.
This new doctor is expected to continue to develop knowledge, so as to be able to contribute more to the world of education. In addition, it is hoped that it will also promote the Undiksha Postgraduate Program to the general public. In an effort to accelerate student graduation, the Undiksha postgraduate program took strategic steps, starting from distributing supervisors according to their areas of expertise and also paying attention to the lecturer load. In addition, there is also the establishment of a study acceleration service center whose job is to help students solve problems in the study, both academic and non-academic. (hms)
