Singaraja- The election for the Chancellor of the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) for the 2019-2023 period took place, Tuesday (2/4/2019). This process took quite a short time. Elections are not carried out by voting but by consensus deliberation. Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd, who is the incumbent, is again trusted to be the number one person at the largest state university in North Bali.
This election cannot be separated from the statements of two other candidates, namely Dr. I Gede Sudirtha, S.Pd., M.Pd and Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Pujawan, M.Kes, who agreed to entrust the position of chancellor again to I Nyoman Jampel. This was conveyed in a letter, complete with a signature on a stamp dated April 1, 2019. “This election took place by deliberation and consensus. “This is an agreement between the two rector candidates to hand over their rector candidates to Mr. Nyoman Jampel as rector,” said the Chair of the Undiksha Senate, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Sudiana, M.Pd.
Meanwhile, the Authorized Person of the Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Menristekdikti), Wisnu Sardjono Soenarso, who serves as Head of the Education and Training Center of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, appreciated the election which was very conducive. He also emphasized that after this, no problems had arisen. However, we still support each other in building institutions. “We here are a big Undiksha family. “Whoever is elected as chancellor must be supported,” he stressed.
In order to dispel doubts, Soenarso also asked I Gede Sudiartha, who still serves as Dean of the Technical and Vocational Faculty (FTK), and I Gusti Pujawan, who is still Deputy Chancellor III, regarding the statement made. Both of them answered that there was no coercion or intimidation. After the election which took place in the Ganesha III Rectorate Room, Chancellor I Nyoman Jampel believed that the election by deliberation and consensus was the impact of implementing the Tri Hita Karana concept in the academic community. “We would like to express our gratitude to the entire academic community, especially the University Senate for entrusting it back to me as chancellor,” he said.
After this, his party continues to boost the implementation of programs that have been designed for the first term of office and prepares to implement the vision for the next four-year term of office which is seen as capable of accelerating the realization of Undiksha’s vision as a superior university based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in Asia in 2045. “Of course, we will continue to implement the program that has been designed. “This year has been designated as internationalization at home for Undiksha,” he said. Apart from that, the implementation of online and distance-based learning is also being encouraged. “We are trying to make Undiksha better in the future, including being able to realize the vision more quickly,” he added.
