Singaraja – Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) fielded 21 top athletes to represent Bali at the National Student Sports Week (POMNAS) from 18 to 26 September 2019. In order to get the best results, preparations have been made for all sports. Namely, karate, pencak silat, petanque, swimming, athletics, sepak takraw, futsal, and tennis.
The number of athletes who will compete is more than in 2018, which was only 16 people. Deputy Chancellor III Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., after the coordination meeting, on Tuesday (9/7/2019) at the Jinengdalem Faculty of Sports and Health Campus, Buleleng Regency, hopes that the best athletes can present brilliant achievements at the national level and continue to the international level. “Hopefully it can provide the best results for Undiksha and Bali,” he said. Supporting this, it is hoped that preparations can be carried out optimally. Likewise, athlete development is carried out on an ongoing basis. “Preparations must be done carefully,” he said.
So far, Undiksha students have made a number of achievements in sports. Not only at the provincial and national level but also internationally. Supporting the birth of skilled athletes, Undiksha, which now has a Faculty of Medicine, is trying to improve the quality of supporting facilities to international standards. (hms)
