Singaraja- Implementation of the 2020 Online-based Field Schooling Introduction (PLPbD) program at the University of Education of Ganesha (Undiksha) began, Monday (10/8/2020). This program targets hundreds of schools spread across eleven provinces in Indonesia. “This activity will last until October 17, 2020. There are 1,349 students involved in 370 schools,” said the Head of the Undiksha PLP Center, Dr. Dewa Bagus Sanjaya, M.Si, Friday (7/8/2020).
As explained in more detail, the provinces are Bali, Banten, DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, East Kalimantan, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, South Sumatra, and North Sumatra. The selection of schools is determined directly by students who are supported by prior communication with the school. Prior to implementing the program, all students were provided with advocacy on various matters related to technical activities and the implementation of the Covid-19 prevention protocol. “We hope that the program that has been planned can run as expected. In the context of maintaining the quality of implementation even though it took place during the Covid-19 pandemic. Students can get experience that can improve self-quality,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Undiksha Learning Development and Quality Assurance Institute (LPPPM), Prof. Dr. I Made Ardana, M, Pd., in his direction said that the PLP program has a very important goal for students, namely to be able to develop their educational academic competence as well as academic competence in the field of study. “This also includes improving the ability to implement online learning. I am confident that I can achieve the desired competency,” he said.
Delivered further, the implementation of this program cannot be separated from the role of micro assistant lecturers teaching. “We really appreciate this. Hopefully, this assistance can be carried out on an ongoing basis, so that the targets of this program can be achieved as expected, “he added.
Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., encouraged students in the PLPbD program to create learning innovations. “In my opinion, this is something new, but it will be a trigger for students to gain experience in applying technology in learning,” he said.
These innovations, he continued, could be related to learning planning and evaluation implementation. This also needs to adjust to the conditions of each school and student. “Therefore, this needs to be prepared. How to plan, how to evaluate. This needs attention,” he explained.
The implementation of PLPbD is a form of anticipation for the Undiksha academic community and other people exposed to Covid-19 and as a form of implementing Ministry of Education and Culture policies. “To apply social distancing, then theoretical learning is carried out online. I also hope that students will also provide education regarding the prevention of Covid-19,” said the Chancellor from Nusa Dua, Badung Regency. (hms)
