Singaraja- A number of models appeared at the fashion show at the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) Auditorium, Sunday (3/7/2022) evening. The model is wearing a very dress fashionable with stunning make-up. No doubt, his appearance became the main attraction of the audience.
This performance is a regular event held by final semester students from the Family Welfare Education Study Program (PKK) concentrating on fashion and cosmetology, Faculty of Engineering and Vocational (FTK) Undiksha). Titled Ganesha Fashion and Beauty Festival (Gafabes), this event carries a theme there which means ethnic, culture, and heritage which symbolizes a cultural heritage in the form of traditional ethnic cloth which is a big concept in its use as a work. In this theme, it is reclassified into several sub-themes inspired by the cycle of the passage of time namely Nirmala, Sharma, Sathya, and Erebus.
The head of the committee, Ni Kadek Ayu Dilla Damayanti, said that this activity was not only to fulfill the requirements for a fashion show design course but also to become a space for expressing works of art resulting from the lecture process.
Dean of FTK, Dr. I Gede Sudirtha, S.Pd., M.Pd., expressed his appreciation for the holding of this event again. He considered that from year to year, the development is getting better, both in terms of quality and quantity. It was emphasized that this performance was not the end goal of the course but was the beginning of the student’s struggle to continue working so that they were able to be competitive and able to become reliable young designers. “In the process, there will definitely be deficiencies, but I really appreciate the work they make,” he said.
The dean from Badung Regency said that in producing a work that will be displayed in this performance, students are required to have independence by going directly to the field to dig up information that supports the theme of the performance. This is in line with the Freedom to Learn Campus Merdeka (MBKM) policy rolled out by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. “In their process of developing this product, they deliberately left it in the context of independent learning which became a ministry program, namely MBKM,” he said.
He hopes that this performance can be carried out continuously. The works displayed are more diverse and able to attract industry and market interest. (hms)
