Singaraja- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) students continue to show their achievement in national level competitions. One of them is Olga Cristiana. The English language Education Study Program student represented Bali at the XVI National Student Art Week or Pekan Seni Mahasiswa Nasional (PEKSIMINAS), which took place at Universitas Brawijaya, Malang, on October 25-28, 2022. She, who participated in the female keroncong song competition category, won fifth place.
In this annual competition, the student, known as Olla, had to compete with 18 participants from 18 provinces in Indonesia. Under the guidance of her lecturer, Dr. Kadek Wirahyuni, S.Pd., M.Pd., she sang two Keroncong songs Entitled Nusantara Indah and Stambul Tinggal Kenangan. It took about a month to prepare for this competition after participating in the selection at the region. “From this selection, I was trusted to represent Bali to the national level,” she said.
She is very grateful for this achievement because singing keroncong songs is a challenge, especially since competing at the national level is the first time for Olla. “I’ve never sung the keroncong genre before. So this is a challenge for me. To be in the top 5 is an honor,” she said.
Her experiences and achievements are also a motivation to improve his potential and to pursue achievements. “Of course from this experience I want to be even better in the future,” concluded the student from Gerokgak, Buleleng.
This achievement was given appreciation by Undiksha leadership. “We give appreciation for this achievement. Hopefully in the next event, Undiksha students can participate and earn achievement again,” said Undiksa’s Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Public Relations, and Alumni, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd.
