Singaraja- Academics at the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) pay attention to the character building of Lemkari Buleleng athletes. This is implemented through the Community Service Program (P2M) on 1 and 2 June 2023.
This service is centered in two places. First, at the Bhuana Patra Sports Hall which involved 250 karateka from 14 dojos in Buleleng Regency with resource persons from the Buleleng Regency KesbangPol and the Buleleng Regency Education and Youth Office. The second activity was centered at the Tamtama Candidate School in Singaraja City. Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Kadek Yogi Parta Lesmana, S.Pd., M.Pd., said that this activity carried the theme “The Character Building of Lemkari Buleleng Athletes in an Effort to Increase Pancasila Patriotism to Increase Achievement in Karate Sports Branch in Buleleng Regency”.
Further explained, through Pancasila Character activities which refer to the Character Education Strengthening Movement (PPK) launched by the Ministry of Culture in 2017 the aim is to build and equip students as the golden generation of Indonesia in 2045 to face the dynamics of change in the future, develop a national education platform which places character education as the main soul by taking into account the diversity of Indonesian culture, as well as revitalizing and strengthening the potential and competence of the education ecosystem. “The characters that must be developed in the Strengthening Character Education program are Religious, Nationalist, Integrity, Independent and Mutual Cooperation based on the character education philosophy of Ki Hajar Dewantara. Namely exercise of the heart (ethics), the exercise of thought (literacy), exercise of intention (aesthetics), and exercise (kinesthetic),” explained the Undiksha Faculty of Sports and Health lecturer.
The implementation of this activity added to Yogi Parta, is also the task and responsibility of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education through Community Service. “The ideas and ideas that I personally came up with through character activities began in 2019 ahead of the Bali Porprov by collaborating and being approved by FORKI Buleleng. Hopefully, this activity will provide benefits,” he concluded. (hms)
