Singaraja- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) through Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LPPM) held the Editor in Chief School, Tuesday (18/10/2022). This activity is to improve the quality of research journals and increase the number of globally indexed journals.
The activity, which took place in the Rectorate Ganesha III Room, was opened by the Head of LPPM Undiksha Dr. I Ketut Sudiana, M.Kes. He, who represented the Rector, said that currently Undiksha already has 120 journals, both managed under LPPM, Faculties, and Study Programs. Of these, 99 journals have been indexed by SINTA. “Of the 99, around 18 are already indexed at SINTA 2, while the rest are still at lower indexes 3, 4, 5 or 6,” he explained.
Currently, the quantity of Uniksha journals is considered sufficient. Now, Undiksha is focusing on improving quality, both the quality of writing and journal management. This effort can enhance the quality of journals, as indicated by the increase in SINTA indexation and globally indexed journals. “Now what is being intensified through leadership policies, including in this case is conducting the school of the chief and editor in order to improve management to improve quality,” he continued.
To increase the number of globally indexed journals, management aspects are expected to be online based on a system that meets the criteria, qualifications, and standards of globally indexed journals. “The strategic position for journal management is in the chief and editor. This is what we keep trying to get more and more of, “concluded this academic from Gianyar Regency. (hms)
