The Legal Sciences Department Student Association (HMJ), Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) again held a seminar with the theme “How to be an international lawyer”, on Friday (28/12/2018). This national seminar presented the famous lawyer, Dr. Hotman Paris Hutapea, S.H., M.Hum.
Chair of HMJ Legal Sciences, I Wayan Santika, Tuesday (18/12/2018) explained that the seminar held at the Undiksha Auditorium was a medium for providing insight and knowledge to students and also the general public to understand the opportunities that exist today, namely in terms of specifically to become a professional international lawyer in facing global challenges. “Moreover, Bali, with its development in the world of tourism, has the potential for conflict, both of a public nature, namely state issues, and of a civil nature, namely individual relationships across state borders. This opens up opportunities for academics and the general public to become international lawyers. “This seminar can be a source of information,” he explained.
It was further stated that this seminar was open to the public. The ticket price for students is IDR 50 thousand, general IDR 75 thousand, and On The Spot (OTS) IDR 100 thousand. Participants will also receive a certificate. “The seminar starts at eight in the morning,” he said.
Head of the Department of Law, Ratna Artha Windari, S.H., M.H., conveyed that this seminar which takes place every year is a medium for increasing knowledge, especially for students. Apart from that, various activities have been held, such as public lectures on various topics featuring national speakers. “This is part of student academic development,” she said.
As an educational institution that is required to produce reliable Human Resources (HR), this department, which was only founded in 2014, also involves students in various off-campus activities, such as counseling about law in villages and other services. Not only that, students are also encouraged to play an active role in participating in various competitions, one of which is the Student Creativity Program (PKM). “Various achievements have been achieved. “This continues to be improved,” she added.
