Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) is holding a Joint Entrance Selection for the Independent Computer Based Test (SMBJM-CBT) for student admissions for the 2022/2023 academic year. The implementation of this exam received monitoring from the Regent of Buleleng, Putu Agus Suradnyana, S.T., together with the Deputy Regent, dr. I Nyoman Sutjidra, Sp.OG., accompanied by the Regional Secretary of Buleleng, I Gede Suyasa, M.Pd. There is also the Head of the Buleleng State Attorney, Buleleng Police, Kodim 1609/Buleleng, and the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia Representative for Bali, Thursday (14/7/2022). This test is given appreciation because it runs disciplined and continues to implement health protocols.
The SMBJM-CBT was carried out by Undiksha from 11 to 18 July 2022. This selection was the last for admission of new Diploma III and Undergraduate students with a total of 1,568 applicants, consisting of science and technology, social humanities, and mixed fields. The participants were not only from the Bali area but also from outside Bali.
Supporting the smooth selection, Undiksha prepared nine laboratories. Considering that it is still in the atmosphere of the Covid-19 pandemic, Undiksha also implements strict health protocols. Participants must wash their hands, use hand sanitizer, check body temperature, and wear a mask. In addition, the room capacity also takes into account the distance. The review by the Buleleng Regency Government together with other relevant agencies was not only through CCTV in the secretariat room of the committee but also directly into the room when the exam was over.
Deputy Regent of Buleleng, dr. I Nyoman Sutjidra, Sp.OG., confirmed to a number of participants that the exam had run well and was disciplined. He also gave his appreciation for Undiksha’s readiness to carry out exams that prioritized computer-based transparency. Likewise with the application of health protocols. “From monitoring, the implementation of the health protocol is very good, starting with physical distancing when students carry out tests, and hopefully after this test, there will be no additional new cases, especially in the Buleleng district,” he said. Sutjidra who was accompanied by the Buleleng Regional Secretary, I Gede Suyasa, M.Pd., hoped that these applicants could join the Undiksha academic community.
Meanwhile, Undiksha Chancellor, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., emphasized that in accepting new students, Undiksha was consistent in its decision, namely accepting prospective students based on their abilities. Therefore, students are asked not to believe the offer of someone who claims to be able to facilitate passing the selection. “To the public, don’t believe if someone says he can help to pass it, that’s nonsense,” he said.
The quota for Undiksha student admissions for the 2022/2023 academic year is around 4,500 people. From that, SMBJM-CBT is allocated 30 percent. Previously, Undiksha had also carried out admissions through the National Selection to Enter State Universities (SNMPTN) and the Computer-Based Writing Examination Joint Selection to Enter State Universities (UTBK-SBMPTN) with quotas of 30 percent and 40 percent respectively.
