Singaraja- Homeland Archipelago Student Exchange Program – Credit Transfer System with Technology (Permata Sakti) 2019 at the University of Education Ganesha (Undiksha) received appreciation from the central Monitoring and Evaluation Team (Monev) at a meeting, Friday (22/11/2019). This is because the implementation of the program has been running according to predetermined guidelines.
“So we consider that the implementation of the Permata Sakti program at Undiksha has gone well, according to the guidelines. And what really impressed me was that Undiksha adhered to the principle of being able to develop programs, not only conventional learning but also blended learning, so that was very positive for students,” said the Monev Team, Dr. Med. Setiawan, dr.
Furthermore, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Padjadjaran University said that Undiksha had also provided facilities for students, in the form of alma mater coats, Student Identity Cards (KTM), and so on. “With this, students feel that they are immediately part of Undiksha. In this program, students can also take credits according to the provisions,” he said.
Behind this, it is undeniable that there is still a need for improvement in the implementation of this program. One of them, as stated by students, is related to transportation to campus which is still an obstacle. His party provided input, responding to this, the university could provide transportation in the form of bicycles. “It’s also good for health. Student residences are also not too far from campus. So that can help. There are still things that need improvement, but that’s normal. In implementing the program, there are efforts to improve quality,” he said.
Through the meeting which took place in the Undiksha Rectorate’s Ganesha I room, the constraints experienced by students were discussed and immediately clarified, both by the university and the Monev Team. “This input is important for evaluating future program implementation,” said Setiawan. In general, he stated that program implementation also needs to be followed by changes in learning patterns that are relevant to the demands of the industrial revolution 4.0. Therefore, lecturers must prepare modules online as well as strengthen the learning process which is carried out face to face. “There needs to be flexibility and opportunities to be more independent from students,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Undiksha Permata Sakti Committee, Dr. Gde Wawan Sudatha, S, Pd., S.T., M.Pd said students participating in this national program attended education at Undiksha for three months. His party is committed to making improvements, such as lecture time and so on. “Of course what is still lacking, will be followed up and conveyed to the leadership, so that the implementation of this program is getting better,” he said.
This program, he continued, not only provides an academic experience for students but also can get to know the culture. Therefore, it is expected to run in a sustainable manner. “From this program, students can learn about Balinese culture and so on. Of course, we want this program to continue,” he explained. The same thing was also conveyed by a number of Study Program Coordinators who were also present at the monitoring and evaluation. He conveyed that this program could give a new color to education at Undiksha because it was filled with exchanging experiences with local students. Some even hope that learning can be done for one semester.
One of the participants, Eka Putri Agustina, admitted that she was very proud to be part of this program because it also provides an opportunity to get to know Bali more deeply, including its people. “This is a lesson for me. Most memorable when getting to know the daily life of the Balinese people. How to use the Balinese language, wear traditional clothes and maintain harmony,” he said while hoping that this program could get better.
At a meeting with students, Undiksha Chancellor, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., said the Permata Sakti program was a medium to show Indonesianness. “In the end, this student exchange is the unity of the archipelago. Because they come from various regions, they met here,” he said. The former Dean of the Undikha Faculty of Education (FIP) said that Indonesia consists of various tribes. These differences must be made a source of pride and must always be supported by an attitude of harmony, which is always echoed by Undiksha. “Harmony for Indonesia. Undiksha is committed to creating something like that,” he said.
This year’s program was attended by 12 students from Jakarta State University, Indonesian Education University, Surabaya State University, Malang State University, Makassar State University, and Manado State University, all of which have LPTK status. The selection is carried out strictly, including at Undiksha. Starting from administration and interviews. This is also supported by student achievement and the Grade Point Average (GPA) and have never been subject to academic sanctions. (hms)
