Singaraja- Once again, students from Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha). I Gede Artha Wibawa, Information System Study Programme and Ni Kadek Anggun Purwita Sari from Management Study Programme managed to achieve four awards in the national business plan competition. The interesting thing is that those awards were earned in less than two weeks. This admirable achievement was conveyed to Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Public Relations, and Alumni, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., on Tuesday (31/5/2022)
Met after the meeting, Artha Wibawa explained that the competitions took place both offline and online. The first offline competitions took place on May 21, 2022, at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. In the competition with 26 teams as participants, he brought the traditional market digitalization platform. The idea is to improve the reputation of traditional markets among the public. This platform led him to win 1st place. “We see that there has been no transformation from traditional to digital. With this platform, we want to raise the reputation of traditional markets which have been considered low so far,” they explained.
The next offline competition was held on 24 May 2022 at Universitas Negeri Semarang. The business plan that was presented was called “Fruzy”, which is a platform to market leftover fruits from farmers. Through this creative idea, farmers’ crops can be marketed more optimally. “Usually, harvests from farmers will be sorted first before being sold at the market. The ones sold are of the best quality. Harvests quality that are considered not good, are not taken. Thus, we are trying to create a platform, how the rest of the harvest can be marketed for other processed materials,” they said. This business plan won second place after competing with 45 teams.
Meanwhile, one of the online competitions was held at Universitas Bakti Tunas Husada on May 14, 2022. The project that was presented was “IZI”, which is a platform that can connect job applicants with the MSME sectors. Competing with 20 teams, this project managed to win second place. The second online competition at Universitas Sriwijaya culminated on May 21, 2022. In the competition, which was attended by 40 teams, Artha Wibawa and Anggun presented a project called U-high, which is a platform that can be used to facilitate freelancers to display their portfolios to find work. “It won first place,” he said.
Reaching achievements is not the first time for these two fourth-semester students. The previous month in 2022, there were five awards recorded in the field of business plans. “So far there have been nine awards. We paid attention to the MSME sectors. All of the goals of the platform we created are to support the rise of MSMEs as one of the supporting pillars of our country’s economy. Especially in the digital era, this platform is essential,” he explained.
Vice-rector Undiksha, I Wayan Suastra gave appreciation for these amazing achievements. In his opinion, achievements are not only notable to support University ranking, especially in the field of student affairs, but also to support the competitiveness of students and graduates in the future. “This achievement can be a companion diploma. This is what employers will see when students are looking for work,” he said. Regarding the positive impact, he also invited other students to upped their game to participate in competitions and excel. “We at the headship truly support students who want to take part in competitions or other student programmes,” he concluded.
