Singaraja- Student Professional Teacher Education (PPG) Pre-service Period I of 2022 University of Education Ganesha (Undiksha) exhibited various innovative and educative works in Undiksha Postgraduate Seminar Room, Saturday (27/5/2023). This work is the result of a leadership project which is one of the compulsory courses in Pre-service PPG.
This leadership project is to develop students’ leadership abilities through activities of service learning or community or community service-based learning. Through this program, students are expected to be able to contribute to solving problems that exist in society. In carrying out this program, Undiksha collaborates with village/kelurahan governments and orphanages as well as foundations engaged in social fields in the Buleleng Regency area.
PPG Undiksha Coordinator, Drs. I Gede Nurjaya, M.Pd said that through this program prospective teachers are expected to have comprehensive competencies, which are not only limited to education and teaching, but can also become agents of change by being able to solve problems, both within schools and in society.
In this exhibition, students divided into nine teams or groups displayed various types of innovative and educative works. Among them, paving blocks made from plastic waste, crafts made from paper waste, herbal medicine, healthy food and drinks, digital-based learning media, literacy, and numeracy media, as well as strategic efforts to fulfill food ingredients by utilizing yards as agricultural land. These works attracted the attention of stakeholders and participants. Through this exhibition, the whole team can share good practices with each other.
The creation of these works is based on various reasons. As is the case for paving blocks made from plastic waste. The team leader, Gusti Agung Dody Adnyana, said that the emergence of this idea could not be separated from the management of plastic waste that had not been maximized. He who is included in the education science family admitted that he had difficulty finding formulas for making this product. However, through literacy, this can be overcome.
It is hoped that these works can continue to be developed and can provide benefits to society. In addition, students are also encouraged to be able to produce other innovations, both as a support for the implementation of education and teaching and others. (hms)
