Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) students are back in the international competition. This time in the World Invention Competition and Exhibition organized by the Indonesian Young Scientists Association (IYSA) in collaboration with Segi College Subang Jaya-Malaysia. This event will be held from 20 August 2021 until the awarding night on 30 September 2021. At this prestigious event, the Undiksha team consisting of Gede Gery Apriliana Putra from the Chemistry study program, I Putu Raka Nata from the Physics Education study program, Kadek Sri Andriani from the Chemistry study program, Ni Putu Ayu Niya Loviyani from the English Education Study Program, Ronia Apriani from the Chemistry Study Program, Wahyu Ariawan from the Chemistry Study Program, and I Putu Pandu Setiawan from the Chemistry Study Program won gold medals in the Environment category.
The award was obtained through a work entitled “Ganesha Smart Pure”. The team leader, Kadek Sri Andini, explained that this innovative work puts forward the concept of waste treatment in the laundry business so that waste water can be converted into reusable water with a capacity of 80% of the previous capacity. This product optimizes the theory of chemistry, biology, and physics so as to produce clearer water. “The advantages of this innovation are that it can save up to 80% of laundry water, is easy to use, and is environmentally friendly”, Sunday (2/10/2021).
This competition was participated by 369 teams from 29 countries around the world. The Undiksha team took approximately one month to make preparations which included product preparation, scientific articles, product videos, and presentation materials. “Through all these processes, we are very grateful to have the opportunity to participate in this competition. In addition, we also feel proud because even though the pandemic can still contribute achievements to our beloved Undiksha,” she said.
Furthermore, he thanked the Undiksha leadership for providing support in participating in the competition. Likewise for the supervisor, Dr. I Nyoman Tika, M.Si. “This achievement makes us more motivated to continue working, participating in similar events to make Undiksha proud in the national and international arena,” he added.
Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Public Relations Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., expressed his appreciation for this achievement. “We from the leadership really appreciate and are proud of the students because they keep the spirit of competition and achievement in the midst of this pandemic,” he said. He also invited this spirit to be maintained and followed by more and more students. “Achievements are not only important for universities but also important for students in increasing competitiveness,” he concluded.
