Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) is planning internationalization in 2019. To support this, facilities and infrastructure (Sarpras) continue to be strengthened. Likewise with Human Resources (HR).
Deputy Chancellor II Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd., Wednesday (7/11/2018) said that internationalization was a commitment to be realized. Currently, the facilities and infrastructure to support the activities of the academic community are generally up to standard. Both in terms of computerization equipment that leads to digital information in the campus environment, as well as digital-based learning facilities. “All faculties have been given budgets since 2017. This is to complete their learning instruments,” he explained. In terms of systems, this year it has also been developed to support the wheels of the institution so that it runs well. “In 2019, when internationalization takes place, we will be ready. In terms of learning facilities, almost all classrooms are equipped with LCDs, ACs, and benches according to standards. “We also initiated online learning patterns,” he said.
Not only that, to simplify and speed up access to information at the Jalan Udayana Campus, the Faculty of Languages and Arts on Jalan A. Yani, Singaraja, and the Denpasar campus, the internet network has also been improved. Meanwhile, specifically for HR, it is also a concern. Breakthroughs through training, workshops, and direct coaching are intensified. “Currently, in terms of performance and professionalism, it is not yet well spread across all faculties. So the term performance resonance occurs. There are still fluctuations between faculties. “We have made breakthrough efforts through training, workshops, and direct coaching,” said this academic from Kintamani, Bangli.
Still related to internationalization, in 2019 performance awards for administrative employees are based on real-time reports. This means that employees must fill in their daily performance through the system. No longer manually. “This change is also a form of internationalization,” he stressed.
Apart from that, e-office implementation was also designed. Correspondence management will go through the system and can be accessed via gadget. “Through this, Undiksha will be truly managed by a system that has a direct impact on more efficient use of budget and tools,” he added.
To realize internationalization, this university which already has a Faculty of Medicine (FK) has carried out a workshop by bringing in speakers from the Deputy Chancellor IV of the Sepuluh November Institute of Technology (ITS) Surabaya, Prof. Dr. Ketut Buda Artana, S.T., M.Sc. Undiksha Chancellor, Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., said that in order to be able to compete on the international stage, it is necessary to reform and improve the internal education system, including accreditation of study programs, faculties, and institutions. To create an international university, the minimum requirement is that the institution’s accreditation must be A. Efforts are being made to achieve this this year. Currently, Undiksha is also preparing to accept students from abroad. “We also prepare students and lecturers to study abroad. “Foreign language skills also continue to be encouraged,” he said.
