Bangli- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) sent thousands of students to carry out the Thematic Real Work Lecture (KKNT) program in Bangli Regency. The handover to the district government took place, Saturday (8/7/2023). Through this program, students are expected to be able to contribute to solving problems in the village.
KKNT, which was the first time held by Undiksha, was attended by 1,312 students. The students are spread across 52 villages, four sub-districts in Bangli Regency. The KKNT program will be attended by students until August 20, 2023.
The submission of students was carried out by the Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Cooperation of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T. M.T.I., and received by the Deputy Regent of Bangli, I Wayan Diar, S.St.Par. Rasben Dantes, who represented the Chancellor, expressed his appreciation to the Bangli Regency Government for providing space for Undiksha to implement the KKNT program. The presence of students in the community for about five weeks is a form of Undiksha’s support for the implementation of regional development. Through this program, students are expected to gain new experiences, be able to build soft skills, able to build collaboration, able to improve communication skills, and most importantly can contribute to solving problems in the village. “Through KKNT, the most important thing is that students know problems in the community, can identify various potential problems, and can contribute to providing solutions to existing problems in society,” he said.
It is hoped that the collaboration between Undiksha and the Bangli Regency Government will not stop at the implementation of the KKNT program. But it can be continued for the implementation of other programs, such as regional potential studies and academic studies of draft regulations. “We hope that local governments and universities can really collaborate so that whatever is done by universities can benefit local governments, and vice versa,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Regent of Bangli, I Wayan Diar hopes that the presence of students in the village can contribute ideas and knowledge in order to develop village potential and accelerate regional development starting from the village. “Hopefully with this Community Service Program, it can provide recommendations to villages regarding the potential to be developed or new potentials that can be developed, such as the agricultural sector which is the largest in Kintamani,” he said.
The Deputy Regent from Kintamani District is also very open to collaborating with Undiksha for the implementation of other programs. One of them is an academic study of draft regulations.
“We really hope that the Bangli Regency Government can work together with Undiksha because until now there are still many academic studies needed in order to regulate all activities in Bangli Regency,” he added.
In implementing the KKNT, students will carry out a number of programs, consisting of mandatory group programs on disaster response; group elective programs consisting of village institutional/HR management programs, Source-Based Waste Management, Environmental Sanitation and Health, Tourism Development, conservation or socio-cultural, economic and entrepreneurship strengthening. In addition, there is an individual program in the form of foster families. (hms)
