Singaraja- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) was once again recorded as a winner in the World Science, Environment, and Engineering Competition (WSEEC). Five Undiksha teams delivered the five medal achievements through innovative works.
The event took place from 16 to 22 July 2022 with Universitas Indonesia as the host, followed by hundreds of teams from 22 countries. Undiksha’s first team were students from the Mathematics Education study program consisting of Ni Kadek Dwi Utami (Mathematics Education), Ni Wayan Ayu Kesumawati, Kadek Gita Cahyani, Putu Wia Rosita Dewi, Ni Luh Gede Kusumasari. This team brought work in the form of educational games for deaf students. “The game that we made is based on adventure, where there will be a Robin Hood character who completes an adventure mission by looking for pizza for hungry people. This game takes fractions as the main material,” explained Wia, Thursday (7/21/2022).
He explained that the background of this work was that there were not many special learning media for deaf students, and students were falling behind in learning abstract mathematics. Students nowadays prefer to play games rather than study. The work preparation takes 2 months under the guidance of Dr. I Nyoman Sukajaya, M.T., who won a gold medal and a MIICA Special Award.
