Singaraja- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) continues to expand cooperation with foreign universities, especially in implementing education and teaching. The latest cooperation is established with the Institute of Business (IoB) Timor Leste. The signing of the cooperation took place on Thursday (2/3/2023).
The discussion of this cooperation was attended by Undiksha’s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I. He was accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Vocational, Prof. Dr. I Gede Sudirtha, S.Pd., M.Pd and his staff, and Badan Kerjasama dan Kehumasan (BKK). Meanwhile, from IoB Timor Leste, the Rector, Dr. Pedro Barreto Ximenes, S.T., M.M., along with the Director of External Relations and Cooperation, Rui Felix Barreto Ximenes, L.Ec., M.Par., MM; Deputy Department of Education of the Consulate of Timor Leste, Bali, Marselino Ximenes, and the Administrative Engineering Section of the Embassy of Timor Leste, Yosefina Linda, were present.
At this meeting, opportunities for future cooperation were discussed. Initially only limited to ideas, then led to a realization. Possible cooperation includes credit transfer for students for potential study programs, implementation of summer camps, and instructional training for lecturers. The realization of these programs by IoB Timor Leste is just waiting for further information from Undiksha.
The Rector of IoB, Pedro Ximenes, expressed his desire to establish cooperation with Undiksha because he saw Undiksha as one of the leading educational institutions in Indonesia, especially in Bali. In addition, it also has a very long track record, and its location is in North Bali, with an environment that is still suitable as a place of education.
As planned, it will send students to Undiksha starting September 2023. It is even possible before that to provide more orientation experience, both to the environment and mastery of the Indonesian language. Pedro Ximenes added that his students’ interest in joining the international program is very high. This program is expected to work well with Undiksha.
Meanwhile, Undiksha Vice Rector, Prof. Rasben Dantes, appreciated this cooperation. He stated that this meeting is a follow-up to the cooperation plan discussed previously by the Undiksha Faculty of Engineering and Vocational with IoB Timor Leste.
Through the discussion, Rasben Dantes also agreed with the forms of programs designed to be implemented in the future. It is hoped that later, it can run smoothly and provide experience and benefits for each university.
Cooperation with foreign universities by Undiksha is one of the efforts to realize the Internationalization at Home program launched in 2019. Through this program, Undiksha is desired to become a learning house for the international community. (hms)
